History
Bal Bikas Boarding High School (BBBHS) was established in 2051 B.S. (1994 A.D.) in Budhanilkantha-3, Kathmandu, with the vision of providing quality education and contributing to the educational development of the local community. The school was founded by Shanker Das Shrestha, a social worker, and Brahmadev Shrestha, then Vice-Principal of Shree Ganesh Secondary School.
Located in a peaceful setting at the foothills of Shivapuri, the school has developed an environment intended to support both academic learning and the overall development of students. Its surroundings include Budhanilkantha Temple, ISKCON Temple, and Jamchen Vijaya Stupa.
Over the years, Bal Bikas has grown from its beginnings into a co-educational English-medium boarding school serving students from Pre-Primary through Grade 10. It is affiliated with the National Examinations Board (NEB) and emphasizes academic education alongside sports, music, dance, cultural activities, and other extracurricular programs.
Since its establishment, the school has remained committed to academic excellence, character building, discipline, and the holistic development of students. Alongside classroom education, Bal Bikas encourages students to participate in sports, music, dance, cultural programs, and other extracurricular activities.
With dedicated teachers, modern educational facilities, and a supportive learning environment, Bal Bikas Boarding High School continues its journey of nurturing young minds and preparing students to become responsible, confident, and capable citizens.
The school has also expanded its educational facilities and services, including a library, science and computer laboratories, Futsal, transportation, cafeteria, and block for Pre-primary and Primary. Scholarship opportunities are also provided for deserving students.
Today, Bal Bikas Boarding High School continues its commitment to academic excellence, moral values, discipline, creativity, and holistic development, preparing students with knowledge, skills, confidence, and values for the future.
